Better Libraries : Good Practice in Schools

This publication sets out to reinforce the importance of library resources in schools, especially within the context of the National Curriculum.

Linked to the HMI "Education Observed" series, it gives examples of good provision and effective use of school libraries and describes some of the more successful approaches to developing the relevant skills.

Library staffing, stock and finance are also covered, as are aspects of library policy and planning.
