This volume describes the mystery of Atlantis, and the case for and against a rational scientific explanation is put forward.

Evidence is provided in the form of eyewitness accounts and written and pictorial reports.

Whilst there may not be a scientific explanation for the phenomena, the book does not attempt to reduce the its mystique, but instead offers a variety of possibilities to allow readers to come to their own conclusions.

It is part of a series which builds on the fascination of children to provide an accessible explanation of some scientific techniques and the way in which science can be used to attempt to explain phenomena.
