This dictionary provides a comprehensive selection of terms currently in use in the many inter-related fields covered by town and country planning.

The terms are listed alphabetically in English order with, where appropriate, American equivalents and equivalents in the other languages.

Alphabetical indexes for these other languages are also provided.

Definitions are included wherever this is necessary to give precision.

Cross references are also given for a large number of terms to related terms with which comparison can be made.

In all languages synonyms are included where these are in common use.

Although this volume is designed to be used independently it should also be useful when used in connection with the five volumes of the "International Planning Glossaries" to which cross-references are provided and in which can be found a fuller discussion of the subject matter.

About two-thirds of the terms have been selected from the five volumes.

This book should be of interest to members of the many professions concerned with some aspect of physical planning.
