This text contains the key information, data, product analysis and projects required for GCSE Design and Technology (except food and textiles) and vocational courses.

Much of the information and data should also be useful for A Level Technology students. The first section provides discussion of topics such as the mathematics needed for technology, manufacturing techniques in metal, plastic and wood, control systems including programmable control, structures, graphics and ergonomics.

The information is designed to help students in planning and making. The second section covers 19 "Small Miracles of Technology".
