Electronic system integration and systems engineering : the 47th L. Ray Buckendale Lecture

From the 2002 Truck & Bus Meeting & Exhibition. This six-chapter paper focuses on what is commonly referred to as systems integration.

The paper addresses ways of preventing, or at least minimizing, the problems inherent in the integration of complex systems, and recommends a methodology that utilizes a combination of systems engineering and industry standards.

As one of the papers in the Buckendale series, it concentrates particularly on commercial vehicle aspects of systems integration.

This is an especially challenging topic for this industry because of the extent to which it uses outside suppliers for major vehicle subsystems.
