This is a 19th century mystery. When the Irish Republican Brotherhood bomb Scotland Yard in May 1885, private enquiry agent Cyrus barker and his apprentice, Thomas Llewelyn, offer their services to the Home Office.

In order to infiltrate and bring down the faction responsible, the duo impersonate a reclusive bomb maker and his anarchist assistant who are willing to help the Irish terrorists in their plan to blow up London buildings and destroy the monarchy.

After a demonstration of their abilities, they are initiated into the faction.

As Barker investigates the identity of the Brotherhood's real leader, Llewelyn finds himself in a heated relationship with a headstrong Irish lass with ties to the radical group. And now, the detectives must risk everything to save London from being blown to kingdom come.
