This German-language course concerns the provision of service from the point of view of UK tourism and leisure professionals.

The course is built around a variety of situations such as reception, information-giving and gathering, food services and sales. The course is structured as a series of 12 units, each of which is centred around one particular leisure or tourist attraction, and focuses on typical situations that a member of staff working there may have to deal with. Within each unit, particular emphasis is placed on listening and speaking.

At regular points throughout the book cultural information is given in order to reduce the possibility of embarrassing misunderstandings.

Four assignments are included, in addition to the exercises, which aim to exploit and put into practice the skills acquired. There is also a German-English glossary included and a key to all the exercises in the book. The series is suitable for a wide range of students, including those following Travel and Tourism City & Guilds, BTEC ND/HND, RSA courses, GNVQ Level 2/3 Leisure & Tourism courses, and short training courses for the industries' professionals. An accompanying cassette pack is also available.
