Addressed to manufacturers as well as to specialists in vector control, the book concentrates on a number of recent trends that are redefining the approach to effective vector control.

These include intense concern about the environmental impact of chemicals, growing appreciation for the necessity of an integrated approach to control, and a corresponding move towards such non-chemical measures as environmental management and the use of biological agents.

Noting the continuing need for pesticides, the book places particular emphasis on equipment that is both suitable for use by communities and capable of delivering accurate and judicious quantities of pesticides.
