Polish transition ten years on : processes and perspectives

Examines the connections between the systematic economic changes, the policy changes and the strategic organizational responses in Poland in the last decade of the 20th-century.

The text covers the relevant issues through perspectives ranging from that of society, the state and the economy as a whole, and finally through the focus on one particular very large state owned enterprise undergoing restructuring, privatization and the search for a strategic investor.

The aim of the text is to offer lessons in the key traditional issues of sequencing, timing, and methods of privatization and the factors that both delay and promote adaptation to the market economy.
