Troubled fields: men, emotions, and the crisis in American farming

In Oklahoma during the 1980s & 1990s, suicide was the leading cause of fatalities among famers. 'Troubled Fields' seeks to explain this by reference to the processes of modernisation, & shows how cultural & social changes have had an effect on the identities of men as providers, stewards & community members.
