Virtual Laboratories for Physical Anthropology on CD-Rom

See all formats and editions

This CD-ROM provides professors and students with a computer-based means for teaching and learning the laboratory component of the physical/biological anthropology course.

The virtual laboratories permit the student to work through specific problems using high-resolution colour images, video clips, three-dimensional animations, and sound, with a high degree of student interactivity that includes taking measurements, plotting data and self-testing.

Each laboratory serves to first introduce the student to a observation or a question and next sets about teaching the student how to answer problem and test predictions.

Unlike traditional materials such as skulls and skeletons that cannot leave the lab, the Virtual Labs can be used at the campus computer lab or on the student's home computer, and can be reviewed by the student time and time again in order to build a full understanding of the material.

Available as a cross-platform CD-ROM; designed to run at 8-bit, 256 colors with 16 MB RAM.
