Based on a concrete-pictorial-abstract approach, Numicon encourages children to explore maths using structured imagery and apparatus to understand and explain mathematical concepts. This resource is designed to be used with 3- to 11-year-olds (Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2 / Primary 1 to Primary 7) and contains 40 Numicon coloured pegs. The pegs fit perfectly onto Numicon baseboards and inside Numicon Shapes, making them ideal for exploring and understanding a wide range of concepts from early counting and patterns, building towers to investigate number bonds, and working with percentages, decimals and fractions. Numicon is research-based and proven to have a significant and lasting impact on results.

Flexible and comprehensive, Numicon resources are available in a range of digital, physical, and print based materials.

It can be used alongside existing schemes, or as a complete maths programme. Not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts.
