On April 9th 2003 Major Ramiz Bahia of the Iraqi army is waiting for orders to engage with the American invaders. The camp is in lockdown, the soldiers primed.
And yet, on the very next day, Ramiz is out of uniform, on foot and dodging armed farmers and fanatic Baathist militia in an attempt to make it home to his loving family – his heaven. Saddam Hussein is reported missing and the orders from above are to disband.
The hell’s road that Ramiz treads, alongside loyal bodyguard Sergeant Ibrahim, leads to the very edge of what a human being can withstand, to witnessing the inhuman consequences of war, and to finding inner belief and physical resources under the most extreme pressure.
