Africa is a blessed continent said to be the second most populated continent with a population of about 1.213 billion in 2016; with a well-endowed enormous mineral resource.

Paradoxically, as other continents seem to be marching forward economically and politically in the changing international scheme of things, sub-Sahara Africa has persistently presented the image of a collectivity of beggar nations racked and ravaged by civil wars.

Out of the ten (10) most bloody and shameful wars ever recorded in the world, sub-Sahara Africa ranked numbers 4, 6 and 9.

Consequently, Civil Wars and armed conflicts have dominated the international media coverage of Africa as a result of high incidence of political violence and the frequency and multiplicity of wars and armed conflicts.Interestingly, that a people share common identity, language, history, doctrine and culture, mores and values is not synonymous with growth, peace, stability and development.

In the Central African region, otherwise known as the "Horn of Africa", Somalia, for instance, is a homogeneous conclave, yet, one of the most troubled countries in Africa today.

In South Sudan, which broke away from the old Sudan, peace and stability have eluded them.
