STEP 5-16 Design and Technology is a major educational development from the Staffordshire Design and Technology Education Programme.

It is designed to help teachers to deliver the national curriculum for design and technology. People and places looks at how technology has developed to suit the needs of people from many different countries and cultures.

The technology discussed relates to the areas of celebrations and festivals; music; natural resources; food; building design; furnishings; toys and games; and transport.

The final chapter looks at some of the successes and failures when applying western technology in other situations.

This book is fully indexed and is suitable for work at all levels of key stage 3, and with years 5 and 6 of key stage 2.
