Consisting of a large set of normative curves, this biometrical study provides researchers interested in foetal growth with a simple and practical tool. 16 different measurements from two distinct sample groups are studied: 490 normal foetuses and stillborn neonates measured at autopsy, and 4507 ultrasound examinations of normal foetuses.

Such large sample sizes make the standard curves reliable.

Classical statistical curves, such as scattergrams with a non-parametric adjustment of the data and percentiles curves, are given for each measurement.

In addition, a new approach to foetal growth analysis is proposed with the study of growth velocities and of relationships between various measurements.

The analysis of modifications in normal foetal growth rhythm is particularly useful when applied to intrauterine growth disorders.
