The Letters of William Freeman, London Merchant, 1678-1685

This volume provides a key to the enormously detailed and valuable records of the Court of Exchequer's proceedings in equity, which have hitherto been difficult to use because of a lack of detailed indexes.

The records, kept at the Public Record Office, contain a wealth of information about many aspects of London history - business and trade, individuals and families, the theatre, the opera and much more.

The calendar covers two sample years from this huge body of records, illustrating the type of information that can be found, and the form in which it appears.
