It is a well known fact that animal abuse is a major problem in our society. Most animal abuse cases go unreported. Due to this fact, the exact number of animal abuse cases each year is unknown. What is known is that problem is significant. Opal Jordan-Horiagon believes that education of young children is the key to the prevention of animal abuse. She believes that if children are taught at a young age how to love, care for and respect their pets, future abuse might be reduced or even better, eliminated altogether. Ten percent of all book proceeds will go to The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to help fight animal abuse.
