Information and education in demography

The basic notions of demography are progressively penetrating the media.

But do reporters and commentators have adequate training to deal with data which, although seemingly easy to interpret, are in fact very complex?

Is the information true? Impartial? Sufficient to promote a better understanding of the policy options which will be adopted for our future?

These questions are addressed here, and it is suggested that even though demography as a science is accessible to everyone, it should not be taken lightly.
