This is the story of Beatrix Potter (1866-1943). Brought up in a middle-class home in London, she was a lonely child and comforted herself with an assortment of small animals snuggled into her bedroom.

Her love of animals led her to be an artist, writer, farmer and conservationist.This book is one of a biography series which tell the stories of famous people from the past, including artists, composers, writers, musicians, pioneers and explorers.

The books should be relevant to the National Curriculum at Key Stages 1 and 2, as well as being accessible to older students with reading difficulties.
