Finding Joseph I : An Oral History of H.R. from Bad Brains

H.R. is lead singer and frontman of the legendary punk rock band Bad Brains. Bad Brains influenced many diverse acts, from the Beastie Boys to Nirvana to Guns N' Roses. This is the first time the story of H.R. and Bad Brains has ever been told in depth. After years of not know what ailed him, H.R. was diagnosed as schizophrenic at 57 years old. This is the story of how he found his way back to sanity. Bad Brains were the biggest African-American punk band of all time, and they incorporated reggae and Rastafarian messages into their music.

H.R. and Bad Brains have appeal among African-American music fans and press, including the Afropunk movement.
