Pesticide residues in food - 1997 : joint meeting of the FAO Panel of Experts on Pesticide Residues in Food and the Environment and the WHO Core Assessment Group, Lyon, 22 September - 1 October 1997,

Presents detailed evaluations of the available toxicological and other safety data for 13 pesticides and one metabolite that have the potential to leave residues in food commodities.

Data on risks posed to the environment by an additional two pesticides are also included.

Toxicological evaluations cover the following pesticides: abamectin; amitrole; chlormequat; fenamiphos; fenbuconazole; fenthion; fipronil; guazatine; lindane; malathion; methidathion; phosalone; triforine; and a matabolite of glyphosate, aminomethylphosphoric acid (AMPA).

Also included as evaluations of the environmental effects of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) and mevinphos.
